WER'E BACK
I would like to welcome back all of our Scouts, Cubs and Beavers to the 12th Ballyboro' Troop.
Now that summer is over - What Summer - It's back to the old slog again.
Before I go on anymore, I would like to welcome our 3 New Leaders, Collette, Margaret and Angela to the Troop and say a sad farewell to Niall(Skipper)Donohue from our Scout Troop who has taken leave of absence, Niall was one of the group that relaunched the 12th Ballyboro' Troop over 3 years ago and had played a very active part within the Troop to make it what it is today. His Wit and Sarcasm will be sorely missed !
Now back to business.
Owing to the number of Cubs within the section, a decision was made at executive level to split the section into Two.
The older Cubs have a new date - Monday Nights - in Ballyleague Hall from 7 - 8 p.m. under Skipper Tom, while the younger Cubs remain on their Wednesday nights in Ballyleague Hall from 7-8 pm.
Our Beaver Section still have their own venue of Lanesborough Parish Hall from 7 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday nights, with the Scouts taking over from 8 - 9.30 p.m. in the same venue.
Our Beaver section are heading off to Dublin ZOO on this Saturday,6th of October and a special cage has been reserved for "Rock the Boat" with Sound Proofing, (could anyone see if the keepers would do us the favour of throwing away the key !).
Some of our Leaders are at present taking part in A Cameoing Instructors Course, and this will eventually lead to greater use of our local amenities early next year. We will keep you posted on developments and progress.
